They see the evidence that IT prevents errors that kill tens of thousands of Americans each year, reduces waste and duplication that cost up to one hundred billion dollars per year, and helps consumers take better care of themselves. Like other areas of health services innovation where information technology can substitute effectively for labor, remote care management is an extremely promising opportunity for improved patient care, purchaser value and investment success.
